Submissions needed for UWG public art project | Arts & Culture

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The University of West Georgia needs community submissions for Howl for UWG, a public art project benefiting the school's scholarships, including those for art students.

"Howl" is patterned after Cows on Parade, an international public art project of painted cows that raises money for charity. The UWG campaign seeks to bridge art, academics and athletics using the school's wolf mascot as a metaphor for community.

With creations and donations from the public, fiberglass wolves will begin to prowl the UWG campus next fall.

All designs must be submitted to the university by Friday, Dec. 2. The ones that are selected will be fully credited and displayed at high visibility locations throughout UWG and Carrollton.

Artists whose projects are chosen will also receive $350 to honor the cost of supplies and materials.
