Buy a reusable tote to help troops

BREMEN, Ga. -- In support of U.S. military families, Stage Stores Inc. is now selling a patriotic reusable shopping tote.

All proceeds from sales of the bag will benefit Operation Homefront (1220 Old Canton Road, Marietta, 30062), which provides emergency financial assistance to the families of service members and wounded heroes.

The tote bags are $5 each.

Stage is also giving $5 Bounce Back Rewards to any customers who purchase the bag. The reward is good on any $25 purchase.

Active, inactive and retired military members with valid military IDs can take advantage of Stage's military discount program and earn a 15 percent discount at the company's stores every day.

Stage Stores Inc. operates its stores under the names Bealls, Goody's, Palais Royal, Peebles and Stage.

North Georgia: Let your blue light shine

ATLANTA -- April is Autism Awareness Month, and 17 North Georgia landmarks are letting their blue lights shine to raise awareness for this growing health crisis that now affects one in every 110 American children.

On the evenings of Friday, Apr. 1 and Saturday, Apr. 2, the buildings will illuminate special blue lights in support of Autism Speaks' global Light It Up Blue campaign.

Over 700 iconic locations in 180 U.S. cities and 30 countries will glow blue on Apr. 2, which is World Autism Awareness Day.

Atlanta Bojangles' raise over $20,000 for MDA

HIRAM, Ga. -- Bojangles' recently announced that it raised a record-breaking amount of money during its 10th annual Shamrocks Against Dystrophy fundraiser.

The restaurant chain received over $300,000 from customers, which will send 375 children to MDA Summer Camp this year.

"[Muscular Dystrophy Association] is very proud to have Bojangles' as a valued partner," said Theresa Miller, MDA regional coordinator.

CARROLLTON, GA -- The 26th annual Mayfest Arts & Crafts Festival is right around the corner.

The 2011 event will be at Carrollton's Market Square on Saturday, May 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These hours will be packed with incredible arts and crafts from vendors all over the region, traditional carnival food, live entertainment, a children's village chock-full of activities and more.
