Villa Rica High teacher named April Apple Award winner
VILLA RICA, Ga. -- A special education co-lab teacher at Villa Rica High School has been recognized for her dedication to her students.
Diana Funderburke received the April 2011 Apple Award at the school board's meeting on Thursday, Apr. 21.
As noted in her nomination, Funderburke holds her students to high expectations, but always supports them in their efforts. She fights for them when they are being treated unfairly and always gives more than just her time -- she gives her heart every day.
The Villa Rica High community agrees that the school is a much better place because of Funderburke's efforts, and they are thrilled to see her honored for all her hard work.
Funderburke won the official Apple Award plaque and a complimentary bouquet from Mountain Oak Florist & Design (899 Stripling Chapel Road, Carrollton, 30116), a partner of Carroll County Schools.
