‘Your Money and My Good Looks’ tour returns to Mill Town

BREMEN, Ga. -- Mill Town Music Hall welcomes back “The Queen of Bluegrass” Rhonda Vincent and iconic country vocalist Gene Watson on Friday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 pm.

Concertgoers will be entertained by two great vocalists as they sing from their own music collections, as well as from the successful album they recorded together in 2011, “Your Money and My Good Looks.”

With five Grammy nominations and seven consecutive wins as Female Vocalist of the Year from the IBMA, Vincent is one of the most awarded artists in bluegrass. Her music is known for incorporating savvy contemporary while pulling from traditional classical bluegrass. At the end of January, Vincent will release a two-disc combination project. The project includes six songs each of Bluegrass and Country, with Willie Nelson being featured on the title song, Only Me.

BREMEN, Ga. -- Renowned Christian author Kay Arthur will equip and encourage women for the road ahead of them when she shares her teachings at Mill Town Music Hall on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Arthur is the co-founder of Precept Ministries International and the author of more than 100 books.

“A Day with Kay” is an all-day conference that includes several teaching sessions on the “Spiritual Preparation for the Rough Road Ahead,” music worship and a lunch break. Mill Town Music Hall focuses on wholesome, family-friendly music and events and is located conveniently off I-20 in Bremen (1031 Alabama Avenue).

BREMEN, Ga. -- Multi-award winning bluegrass musician Doyle Lawson and his band Quicksilver will take stage at Mill Town Music Hall on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.

Eagle’s Wing will open the concert with their unique sound of bluegrass instrumental and southern gospel vocals.

Kansas to blow through Mill Town Music Hall like 'Dust in the Wind'

BREMEN, Ga. -- Kansas, one of the most popular bands in the 1970’s and 80’s, will be performing at Mill Town Music Hall stage  on Saturday, Mar. 8, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets went on sale on Friday, Dec. 20.

The award-winning band will pull from their 40-year catalog of hits. Celebrating their 40th year as a band in 2013, Kansas burst onto the music scene in 1974 with their self-titled album. The band has produced eight Gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums, one Platinum live album and million-selling gold single, Dust in the Wind.  In addition, Carry On Wayward Son was the number one most played track on classic rock stations in 1997. Kansas appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 consecutive weeks throughout the ‘70’s and ‘80’s.

BREMEN, Ga. -- ‘It was Almost like a Song’ when Ronnie Milsap, one of country music’s most popular and influential performers of the 1970s and 1980s, announced he would entertain the Mill Town Music Hall crowd on Dec. 13, at 7:30 pm.  Both country and pop fans can reminiscence as they listen to this talented pianist and popular singer perform all of his 40 number one hits.  Milsap, who is blind, has a versatile style of music that has endeared him to a generation of fans.  Mill Town Music Hall focuses on wholesome, family-friendly music and events and is located conveniently off I-20 in Bremen (1031 Alabama Ave.).

Look out for runners on Ga. 400

ATLANTA -- Don't be alarmed if you see a whole bunch of people running down Georgia 400 this weekend.

The Pay the Last Toll road race will be held Sunday, Nov. 17 at 8:30 a.m., and gives athletes one last opportunity to see the infamous toll booths before they are demolished.

Runners will begin at the Glenridge Connector in Sandy Springs and run south to Phipps Plaza. When they reach the toll booths, they will throw in their final 50 cents. All proceeds will go to charity.

Northbound lanes of Ga. 400 will be closed for the race from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday.

Georgia Department of Transportation crews will also spend part of the weekend tearing down a MARTA pedestrian bridge on southbound Ga. 400.

‘O Holy Night,’ other Christmas favorites to kick off holiday season

BREMEN, Ga. -– Grammy Award nominee John Berry returns with his nationally touring Christmas concert to Mill Town Music Hall on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. This annual holiday favorite event stems back to Berry’s 1995 album O Holy Night which launched his annual Christmas concert tour, now in its 17th year. Berry is sure to spread holiday cheer by opening with his greatest country music hits like Your Love Amazes Me and following with many traditional Christmas favorites.
