She was transported to an inpatient rehabilitation center to begin six to eight weeks of therapy. Her family is not disclosing the location of the center to give Aimee privacy.

"Aimee is very anxious to begin rehabilitation and learn to function more independently," her father Andy Copeland said Monday.

She will learn basic life skills, like how to get from her bed to a wheelchair, how to dress herself and how to feed herself after losing her left leg, right foot and both hands to flesh eating bacteria.

"We don't want to be the ones who tell her what her limitations are," her father said. "We want her to discover what she can and can't do. I'm pretty sure she will achieve whatever she sets her mind to."

He said her progress has already come along faster than anyone anticipated.
