Teen identified in fatal Carrollton brawl, shooting

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Police have confirmed that a teen is dead after what appears to be a large brawl in Carrollton, Ga.

Police received a call Saturday around 4 p.m. at Paradise Apartments on Cedar Street in response to numerous calls of fights in the area.

Police went out to the area several times to subdue the incident.

Later that day, police said several of the same people in those incidents ended up at a westside bar and grill on Alabama Street.

As the bar was shutting down around 1 a.m. Sunday, police heard that several girls got into a fight on the street and a group of boys got into a fight as well.

During the scuffle, there was one gunshot fired which struck a teen, identified as Timbarland Crowder, 17, in the chest.

Friends drove Crowder three miles to Tanner Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police are still looking for suspects and no arrests have been made at this time.

However, police believe they have strong leads.
