Politics

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Carrollton resident Michael Dugan (R) today announced he is running for the open Senate seat in Georgia District 30.  The 20-year Army veteran and local building contractor will bring to the job his strong interest in job creation, education and healthcare.

District 30 covers areas of Carroll, Douglas and Paulding counties, including the cities of Carrollton, Temple, Villa Rica, Douglasville, Dallas and Hiram.

Dugan is Director of Support Services for RA-LIN and Associates, a general contractor based in Carrollton.  RA-LIN is one of the most respected providers of construction services in the Southeast.

“My areas of focus are job creation, education and health care,” says Dugan.  “I believe in a clear and defined break in responsibilities between the Federal and State Governments.”

Dugan adds: “I first thought about running for office while I was still serving in the military.  I’ve spoken with many people who have lost faith in our political system’s ability to get important things done.  Our elected officials have become more politicians and less public servants and they’ve lost focus on why we had selected them to represent us.”
