Zaxby's named America's most craveable chain

(WXIA) -- Zaxby's has been named America's "Most Craveable Fast Casual" restaurant for the second year in a row.

The Athens-based chicken chain received the honor from Technomic, a market research firm that focuses on the restaurant industry.

Technomic measures more than 60 elements of a guest's experience to determine the rankings. Zaxby's craveability can be attributed to its popular Chicken Fingerz and dipping sauces, especially the signautre Zax Sauce.

"We are continuously looking for new experiences and flavors to provide our guests, but it's also exciting for us to know that some of our very first menu items are still fan favorites to this day," Zaxby's CEO and co-founder Zach McLeory said. "We're delighted to know our guests have ranked us the most craveable for a second year, and will endlessly strive to provide them with exceptional flavors they can't get anywhere else."

Pizza Hut offering 50% off online orders

(WXIA) -- Twenty years ago, Pizza Hut delivered its first-ever pizza to be ordered over the Internet.

Now, the pizza chain is celebrating this milestone by offering a half-off online deal for customers.

Medium and large Pizza Hut pizzas will be 50 percent off when ordered online now through Jan. 10.

Pizza Hut has also launched Hut Lovers, a loyalty program that provides members with exclusive deals.

A large pepperoni, mushroom and extra cheese Pizza Hut pizza was the first physical good ever purchased online, according to Pizza Hut chief marketing officer Carrie Walsh.

"We want to celebrate the fact that before consumers could buy books, clothes, music or vacation packages via the Internet, they could place an online order for a Pizza Hut pizza," Walsh said in a statement. "We're doing so by giving back to our customers who have helped us lead the way with digital innovations over the last 20 years."

(WXIA) -- The arrival of autumn means different things to different people. For IHOP's youngest customers, it signifies something delicious: a Scary Face pancake.

Scary Face pancakes are available for the entire month of October and are free on Halloween.

"We're excited to bring back one of our most requested holiday promotions, the Scary Face pancake," IHOP vice president of marketing Natalia Franco said in a statement.

The restaurant chain's popular Halloween dish includes one buttermilk pancake, a mouth made from whipped topping, a glazed strawberry nose, mini Oreo cookies for eyes and eight pieces of candy corn to be used as teeth.

Adults don't have to be left out of the Halloween fun; IHOP's famous pumpkin pancakes will also return to the menu in October.

Coke partners with Firehouse Subs for national contest

ATLANTA -- Coca-Cola and Firehouse Subs are partnering for a national sweepstakes centered on stock car racing.

Coca-Cola is sponsoring the Coca-Cola Photo Finish sweepstakes at Firehouse Subs locations through Apr. 21.

During the contest, life-size cutouts of participating Coca-Cola Racing Family members will be placed in FIrehouse Subs locations. Firehouse Subs guests can snap a photo with the cutout and submit it to win. Guests can submit photos via text to cocacolaphotofinish.com, or entries can be mailed.

Participating drivers include Joey Logano, representing the Georgia and Gulf region; Greg Biffle, representing the West and Central region; Danica Patrick, representing the Florida region; Denny Hamlin, representing the South region; and Tony Stewart, representing the Mid-Atlantic region.

Chick-fil-A Daddy-Daughter Date Night returns in 2013

ATLANTA -- Chick-fil-A's wildly popular Daddy-Daughter Date Night will return in February.

More than 100 Atlanta- and Athens-area Chick-fil-A restaurants will host the event on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Every couple in attendance will receive an activity sheet with conversation topics and a booklet called "Continuing the Conversation," which gives the dads and daughters suggestions for getting to know each other better.

"One of Chick-fil-A's goals is to promote community connections and enrich the lives of everyone we serve," Chick-fil-A area marketing director Robin Lomax said in a statement. "We understand the importance of father-daughter relationships and want to encourage dads to take a break from busy schedules, enjoy their daughters' company over a meal and have fun."
